AccountsIQ are delighted to sponsor Barrow Street Rovers for the 2017/2018 season, for the second consecutive year. Barrow Street Rovers are a Dublin-based basketball team which have two teams competing in two different divisions of the Dublin league: Division 1 (top level in Dublin) and Division 4. Home games are played at St. Catherine’s Sports Centre, Merchants Quay, Dublin.
Formed in September 2014, mainly by employees from Google, Facebook, Linkedin and other local software companies such as AccountsIQ, who wanted to compete in the Dublin Men’s Basketball Board (DMBB).
Players hail from 17 different countries and include Leandro Rowies (seen here middle of the image) and Gonzalo Silva Vera, both from Argentina, who work for AccountsIQ in the development team. Other player nationalities include: Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Croatia, Lithuania, France, Greece, Ireland, Malawi, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Slovenia,Turkey and the United States.
So far this season Barrow Street Rovers have lost in the quarter final of the National Intermediate Cup (with their Division 1 team), and they are mid-table in the league for both Divisions 1 and 4 – they are half way through the season, but it is apparently looking promising going into 2018.
We wish them all the very best of luck for 2018 and beyond.
